Training Tomorrows Christian Workers for Today

Obedience to the call to Serve God Is one of the most important decisions you will make.

If you can discern, you can learn.

If a man is called to preach, he will have an ability to do so. His gifts, however, should be cultivated, developed, and increased over time – –

– – – C.S. Spurgeon

Carolina Bible Institute and Seminary – Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God (in its original form); the creation of man by direct creation of God; that God is a Trinity manifest as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; in the incarnation and virgin birth of the Son, Jesus Christ; His vicarious atonement for the sins of all mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross; the resurrection of His body from the tomb; His ascension back to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father as our advocate; His power to save whosoever will believe upon Him; the new birth through regeneration by the Holy Spirit; and that the Holy Spirit indwells all Christians and baptizes them into the body of Christ at the time of regeneration; the rapture of all believers, both living and dead, and the bodily return of Jesus Christ to this earth to establish His Millennial Kingdom.

OUR VALUES

Carolina Bible Institute and Seminary is the outgrowth of an institute program begun in 1973 at the Daniels Chapel Free Will Baptist Church near Wilson, NC. Its original name was Daniels Chapel Bible Institute. The program was started to help some young men who were members of the local church, but immediately became evident that there was a wide need for this type of training program.

In 1975, Our Founder, Dr. Floyd B. Cherry, moved the school to Pine Level, NC and successfully chartered the school as Carolina Bible Institute, a nonprofit corporation in North Carolina, for the purpose of operating a Bible Institute and “such other enterprises as are necessary for the dissemination of Biblical knowledge and training.”

The school operated as a Bible Institute until 1987 when a seminary department was added, and the name was officially changed to Carolina Bible Institute and Seminary. Since that time the school has continued to grow and expand. in 202 a graduate program was added with a master’s degree offered in three disciplines: Master of Ministry, Master of Theology, and Master of Christian Education. In 2016 a Doctoral program was started in the same three disciplines.

Carolina Bible Institute and Seminary believes that the Bible teaches that it is the responsibility of Christians to teach the Word of God (II Timothy 2:2).  Unlike secular education, which presents different views, hypotheses, theories, and philosophies, and leave it to the student to determine what he wants to believe; Christian Education focuses primarily upon the unalterable Word of God. Because CBIS believes the Bible to be the inerrant, infallible, and forever settled Word of God, it should be taught as fact, not theory. Although there is room for variants of interpretation of Scripture and even theories concerning subjects where God’s Word is not concrete, it is our conviction that Christian people should be able to come together in agreement concerning what God is saying in His Word.

Our commitment has remained the same for over 50 years, provide conservative biblical education and training for our students, in such a manner that it glorifies God, and honors His Word!

Carolina Bible Institute and Seminary is incorporated with the State of North Carolina as non-profit educational organization and maintains 501 (c) (3) tax exempt status. it is owned and operated by a Board of Trustees composed of the following:
